CASE STUDY

PROBLEM: The company needed a phone system that was hosted, very expandable, easily administrated for mundane tasks and would be remotely accessible without compromising their main data network. They were also in an expansion/acquisition phase and needed to be able to deploy phones and acquire phone number sets quickly. Their safety teams also needed to conduct weekly teleconference meetings for training and company policy updates.

INSIGHT: The IT department was very hands-on in all aspects of the data infrastructure, so we knew that the on-premise wiring and internet connections would be solid – a must for hosted VoIP and video conferencing equipment to work reliably. We also knew that, in some cases, they would already have phone numbers that would need to be ported over to our servers - which takes 3 to 5 days - and in other cases, we would have to provide local numbers quickly. The Safety department would need to be able to host several offices at one time and would want a “one button” way of joining a meeting.

SOLUTION: Since many of their sites were in remote areas, we pre-configured all phone and related data equipment (routers and switches) so that when they arrived onsite, the IT department could simply plug-and-play with minimal effort.  The phone numbers, when we provided them, were also pre-programmed and ready to go the moment the devices were plugged in. In cases where we had to port in from another carrier, we provided a temporary number to forward to, thus allowing them to continue business without any interruption of service.

For the Safety department, we provided a hosted teleconferencing solution that allowed them to host up to 9 offices simultaneously without consuming all their bandwidth or affecting other data functions.
